Going for Gold

With the pending start of the Winter Olympics in Sochi we sifted through the invitation archives looking for something Gold and Bronze {{of course we’re missing the Silver Medal plug but what can we say…}}. This was too cute not to reminisce over. We first met Lyn through Joan of Ambiente.
Lyn and Andre were a great couple to work with. Their day was about celebrating their two families and children coming together.

Lyn also knew what she wanted. The inspiration was an obvious one, the YaDeau crest she and Andre had. From there all the of elements came together. Lyn wanted a statement piece and she chose a great one!

A copper bronze pocket was gold engraved with their crest, the inserts also engraved in gold. Lyn didn’t stop there however. She wanted to add the wow factor with the presentation. Custom acrylic boxes were made to fit the pocket invitation perfectly. Gold Satin was sewn into plush pillows which the invitation rested on within the acrylic box and chocolate crinkle paper filled sturdy perfectly sized boxes for mailing.

Amazing Right?

Styling in Miami

There are so many exciting things happening for us, many of which will be shared right here. Over the past two years and much of last year, we have been gratefully working with brides all over the country, as well as, out of country! It’s been fantastic to work with couples and different cultures and watching our designs travel abroad. {{The time change can be a bit challenging, but our couples always reached us even if we were at home sitting at the kitchen table long into the evening}}

A little over a year ago, I attended a networking event in Mexico and ended up meeting a fantastic event planner {{who has subsequently become a dear personal friend}}. Robyn Baltuch, is the expert planner in Florida for TC Event Design. She is so talented and creates such visually stunning events.

I was thrilled when she contacted me to collaborate on an event with her. The location was the gorgeous The Addison of Boca Raton. Watermark created the menus, programs, escort and envelopes and my personal favorite a special touch when guests returned to their cars after the party. The valet team placed a matching mirror hang-tag thanking guests for celebrating and a reminder to drive safely. We loved all the details!

Designing and producing in house all of the die cuts and rhinestones kept us busy! We loved working with Robyn and we have already started on the next project….with the serious cold snaps here in the tundra of Minneapolis, I’m hoping to personally deliver the finished product next time!

Branding Your Wedding

Branding the wedding and making it uniquely yours started off with a couples logo or monogram years ago. It’s been fantastic to see brides taking more risks, specifically in the last two years. Everyone knows the invitation sets the expectation with each guest. It also catapults the inspiration for the rest of the day. I know when we sit down with our clients and the brainstorming begins, the excitement builds for all of us as the finishing touches are pulled together.

It’s important to put all of the ideas out there. You can always go back and start to make decisions on what is a must and what is a must-go. I found this fabulous Coco Chanel inspired wedding shoots that was co-produced by Toronto wedding designer Rachel Clingen and wedding planner Laura Antendido of Laura Kelly Wedding Design. You can see the full post on Rachel’s website HERE.

Every detail in the shoot is noticed and frankly perfect with the theme. Don’t be afraid to do something different. If you have a vision, share it with your wedding professionals. It our job to see your vision, create and tune the details. You just might be surprised at how perfectly stylish your theme can be. And why shouldn’t it be? The simplistic themes can still carry out little details. Let the brainstorming begin!

Are you ready for a Fête?

Opening packages at our studio stirs a feeling just like Christmas morning. Whether it’s someone’s wedding invitations, die cut princess invitations or personalized bridal party gifts, we love opening, previewing and gushing over all the cute decisions our clients make. {{In fact, we are in particular, anticipating a Valentines Day card we created for a great client and we can’t wait to share!}}

A package arrived at the studio from Fête by Gwyneth Page. Just by definition we knew it would be festive, but we were completely head over heels when the large envelope unveiled the most perfect packaging we’ve ever seen and we knew instantly Fête would adorn our shelves.

We spoke with the owner Jodi, who is excited over the release. Production is slated for this month, but already they have a shoot for the March issue of Stationery Trends. We couldn’t wait that long to share what is hitting our shelves next month so we hosted our own photography session of the lovely sample set Jodi sent {{which had us drooling}}.
Fête by Gwyneth Paige is a letterpress line of ready to use invitations for celebrations and parties such as Bridal Showers, Birthdays, Cocktail Parties and more. What had us at hello was every invitations offers matching accessories, available for purchase separately. From drink straws to coasters, place cards to thank you notes…Jodi thought of everything the perfect hostess will need to make a statement.
And who says a fill-in invitation can’t have a response card? With Fête, you have the matching option! Oh and notice the envelopes haven’t been left untouched. Envelope liners are standard.

Watermark is waiting {{impatiently}} for these to arrive, but when they do, you will find a fantastic array of options and accessories to go along with it!
